Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week

“Catholic schools provide an outstanding education along with what is central to the Church’s education mission, namely, forming students to live as faithful and articulate members of the Church and active responsible citizens of this nation.” – Bishop Loverde

Our 2013 Catholic Schools week kicked off with students in uniforms at Mass and winners of the Year of Faith Essay Contest reading their essays for the congregation.  On Monday the Student Government led an assembly with prayer, cheers and songs.   “Mathletes” competed in a challenging math competition, and families gathered at Chick-fil-A for a packed spirit night.  Tuesday was Vocations Day, and STS alum Luke Dundon co-celebrated Mass with Fr. Weymes. Fr. Dundon, Sr. Emelita and Sr. Therese led a vocations discussion for the Middle School.  Wednesday is Student Appreciation Day!  Students will wear Spirit Wear and receive the gift of no homework for a night!  Open house for new families is on Thursday and Mass, Exposition and Rosary conclude our week on Friday.
