President’s Parade

President’s Parade

Every February in honor of President’s Day, the halls of St. Timothy School are taken over by the Secret Service as former Presidents and First Ladies greet the school children as they talk to them about their presidencies and what made them so special and endearing to the American Public.  It is not uncommon to see a few Abraham Lincolns, Teddy Roosevelts, Dolly Madisons, or Jackie Kennedys during the parade.  The entire school looks forward to this event each year. The 2nd graders spend time studying democracy, and the voting process.  They even hold their own mock elections to help them understand the balloting process.  The only difference is they are voting for their favorite cookie instead of a elected leader.
