Student Government Council
The St. Timothy Student Government Council is a leadership organization for Middle School students. Four members are officers elected by fourth through seventh grade students the first month of school. They develop platforms, give speeches, make posters, and encourage the student body to vote. Four students, both 7th and 8th graders, are selected by teachers because of their leadership skills, and serve as Executive Board members. The group works to incite school spirit, raise money for philanthropic causes and serve as ambassadors for the parish and the school. The Student Council has raised money for a great deal of worthwhile causes, including: Fisher House, a home for families of soldiers recovering from battle wounds; St. Ann’s Infant Home, a refuge for young women and their newborn infants; and the American Red Cross.
