Ms. Victoria Leitner
Ms. Leitner recently moved to Northern Virginia from her hometown in Columbia, South Carolina. She attended the University of South Carolina where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Vocal Performance Certificate. During her undergraduate studies, she developed a special interest in early childhood music education, taking extra courses and working closely with the Elementary Education Professor at USC. This allowed her the unique opportunity to be an instructor of Music Play, a graduate level course in music engagement for children from birth to age 5. She completed her student teaching internship in Columbia at Meadowfield Elementary and Gilbert Middle where she was responsible for instruction and development of general music skills from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, concentrating on fostering individual musicianship through technique, performance and appreciation. Ms. Leitner was a fine arts management intern at the Spoleto Festival USA in 2011. She was also very active in her home church, as a choir member, director of the children’s choir and assistant director of the junior choir. In addition she was an active performer in the professional regional theatre in Columbia. She is passionate about teaching and sharing her love for music with others.
