August 2026
Dear Saint Timothy Catholic School Faith Community,
Thank you for joining us for the 2026-2027 school year. As we all seek to provide the students with the very best Catholic School experience, let us first lay the foundation for the year ahead, by recalling the words of St. Philip Neri: “The cross is the gift God gives to His friends”. It may be difficult for us to wrap our heads around the idea that suffering is a gift, let alone from God, but just imagine the difference that small shift in perspective could have on our lives, and on the lives of our entire faith community if we were to put those words into practice. The day-to-day irritations and frustrations would become something that we could offer up to our Heavenly Father, or for the Holy Souls in Purgatory.
Laughing off something as God’s will being done versus letting it consume us for an indefinite amount of time, could serve as an expressway to our own mental and spiritual freedom. Every person in this faith community desires for their child to get to Heaven, and for Saint Timothy Catholic School to be part of that journey. Those commonalities make for a strong Catholic School culture, and one that I consider myself blessed to serve.
Personally, I hope for a smooth and flawless year, but since suffering is a prerequisite for our salvation, I intend to grow this school year by taking greater comfort whenever I am faced with an opportunity to suffer for Him. Won’t you join me?
I pray that God will bless you always,
Mr. Michael J. Pryor
