Dress Out Expectations

Birthdays

Students are welcome to dress out of uniform to celebrate their birthday. If their birthday falls on a school Mass day, they will need to dress out on the Thursday prior or Monday after. Summer birthdays can be coordinated with the classroom teacher to allow for a dress out day during the school year. Students must uphold the Dress Out Day expectations when dressing for their birthday.

Dress Out Days

School Dress Out Days will be communicated through Tuesday Tidbits and will often follow a theme! On these days, students are not permitted to wear short or tight clothing, leggings, jeans with rips, shorts shorter than PE shorts, pajama bottoms, high heels or crocs, or clothing with inappropriate or unkind phrases. If the dress out day includes PE bottoms, then PE shoes should be worn.

Spirit Day Thursdays

Spirit Wear tops may be worn on Thursdays with the Thursday uniform bottoms and shoes (traditional or PE based on class schedule) and Dress Out Days (unless on a Mass day.) Spirit wear items can include the pieces sold through our PTO (with the exception of pajama bottoms), House shirts or jerseys/athletic shirts representing Saint Timothy Sports teams.

House Days

Franciscans, Dominicans, Ignations and Salesians in 5th-8th grade are invited to wear their House shirts on Dress Out Days and Spirit Thursdays. They are expected to be worn on House Assembly Days. These take place on specific Fridays throughout the school year and are communicated through Tuesday Tidbits and the PBIS Handbook.

Outerwear Reminders

Students are welcome to wear coats and jackets during outdoor PE and recess. Any coats, jackets and non-uniform sweatshirts or sweaters must be removed inside the school and church. Students are welcome to wear Saint Timothy quarter zips, crewnecks, hoodies or sweaters inside the school and church. Hats are not to be worn in the classrooms, the cafeteria or the church.

Hair Styling Reminders

Hair should be well groomed and the color must be within naturally occurring tones. Extreme hair colors, such as green, purple, blue, pink, etc. is not permitted. Boy’s hair may be no longer than the top of the collar. Hair accessories must be black, brown, white or gold on traditional/spring/fall and PE uniform days.
