Back-to-School Barbecue

Our faith community kicks off each school year by gathering together at the Back-to-School Barbecue. Our students, teachers, priests and families look forward to seeing one another after the summer and it is a great opportunity to meet the teachers and make new friends before the first day! This event is made memorable by bounce houses, face painting, hamburgers and hotdogs fresh off the grill and over 1,000 attendees!

Feast Day Celebrations

To celebrate the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, our elementary students bring a stuffed animal to school for the day. Saint Nicholas’ Feast Day is special for all of our students. Preschool and Kindergarten students leave their shoes out in the hallway to be filled with treats and 7th graders are recognized for a particular virtue they embody. Our students and teachers receive a special blessing with candles from our parish priests on the Feast of Saint Blaise and all students named after an archangel (Michael, Raphael or Gabriel) gather together on the Feast of the Archangels. One of our favorite days of the year is the Feast of Saint Timothy, which is celebrated in January!

The Advent, Christmas, Lenten and Easter Seasons

The Advent and Christmas seasons bring with them them many longstanding school traditions, such as the blessing of the doors, the elf on the shelf, the Nativity Play, the Christmas Pageant and the Kindergarten Angels. The Lenten and Easter seasons are marked by retreats, the Living Stations and May Crowning.

Special Days for Every Grade

Each new grade level brings a special celebration! Our Kindergarteners celebrate the 100th day of school, first grade hosts Grandparent’s Day and second grade leads a parade for All Saints Day. Third grade puts on a Patriotic Show and fourth grade participates in Colonial Day. Fifth grade students enjoy a multicultural event called the International Showcase and sixth grade celebrates a cedar meal. Seventh grade students host a pro-life baby shower and take a field trip to Gettysburg.

During our student’s final year at Saint Timothy, the celebrations are many: a Verdun team building field trip, Alumni vs. Staff and Student Basketball game, Parent and Teacher Appreciation Dinner and 8th Grade Farewell, to name a few.

Throughout the year, school-wide events bring our entire faith community together! Catholic Schools Week, the Halloween Parade and Field Day are a few of our favorites.
